About the project

Ballymun Is Brilliant is a celebration of the creativity of Ballymun’s residents and vibrant community groups.

Through chats over cuppas, moments of inspiration and creating amazing art, together we explored the brilliance of Ballymun. We honoured its past, lived the present and imagined our collective future. And we creatively looked at ways we can continue to build a resilient and sustainable Ballymun together.

The project was funded by the Government’s Creative Climate Action Fund and is built on a partnership between three organisations with strong roots in Ballymun: Global Action Plan, Axis Ballymun and the Rediscovery Centre.

We really enjoyed the celebration at Axis Ballymun, when local artist Adam Mohamed launched his book,  A Ballymun Blend.  The book is a beautiful collection of poetry, interviews and conversations from local residents, on themes such as identity, memory, nature and community.
